12 Strays Of Xmas

. 30th November 2016

12strays#12StraysOfXmas is a Magic828AM season initiative to support the Helderberg Animal Rescue Team in finding homes and giving hope to (hopefully) your future pet in your home.

Each day, for 12 days, we are highlighting a dog or cat that needs a home and we are calling it our #12StraysOfXmas

logo-fwWe also need to let you know that we are doing this responsibly and working with a reputable organisation:

There is R650 adoption fee which includes amongst others, sterilisation of the cat or dog you adopt and there will be a home visit to inspect whether you qualify to adopt a pet from HART.

Jesse will be one in December. Extremely active and vocal. Needs lots of space and or someone to play with and run. Very cheeky, adapts with calm dogs but not equally energetic ones. No cats!!!! Had an enormous fear for young men, that is a bit better, but is much more comfortable with woman.

He is so sweet and gentle and gets on with other dogs and cats. Unfortunately the family who rescued Champion have an older dog who will not accept him and they must urgently re-home Champion.

If you are thinking of getting someone a puppy for Christmas, here are the Canine Commandments… (from a dogs point of view..)

  1. My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years. Any separation from you will be painful tome. Remember that before you buy me.
  2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.
  3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial to my well-being.
  4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your entertainment and your friends. I only have you.
  5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice when it’s speaking to me.
  6. Be aware that however you treat me, I’ll never forget it.
  7. Remember before you hit me: I have teeth that could easily crush the bones of your hand, but I choose not to bite you.
  8. Before you scold me for being un-cooperative, obstinate or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right food, or I’ve been out in the sun too long or my heart is getting old and weak.
  9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will get old.
  10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: “I can’t bear to watch it” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there.

REMEMBER THAT I LOVE YOU!
