Durban businessman Andile Mpisane has given influencer Inno Morolong 24 hours to apologise and retract allegations that he assaulted her at a Sandton nightclub earlier this week.

Mpisane, the son of construction tycoon Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize, has denied the claims, describing them as false and defamatory.

In a letter of demand sent by his legal team and seen by IOL, Morolong is accused of making statements on Instagram with “reckless disregard for the truth” after alleging that Mpisane and his associates attacked her.

“You are duty-bound to ensure that your public statements are accurate and do not unjustly harm others,” the letter reads. “Your unfounded and malicious allegations constitute a violation of our client’s rights under South African law, including the common law of defamation.”

Morolong claims the incident followed a verbal altercation between her and Mpisane, which she alleges escalated into a physical confrontation involving him and his team.

In a now-deleted social media post, she wrote: “I was attacked by men last night at the club. @andile.mpisane and his nkabis assaulted me. My life is in danger. I’m not okay.”

She has since opened a case against Mpisane.

However, Mpisane’s attorney, Mpho Nefuri, rejected the allegations, stating that her client had no involvement in any assault.

“He was a hosted guest at the club and did not engage in any altercation. The individuals involved were the club’s bouncers, yet his name is being unfairly implicated,” she said.

Nefuri added that despite the post being deleted, the reputational damage had already been done.

“The story is already circulating, and people are talking. We are seeking a full apology and will allow the legal process to take its course.”

The 25-year-old Mpisane is a footballer, musician and businessman. He currently serves as chairman and player for Eswatini-based club Mbabane Highlanders AM.

Approached for a response to the letter of demand, Morolong said she was driving and could not respond.

IOL will update the story with her response once received.
