Bye-Bye Plastic, Hello Biodegradable Bottles
Imagine a world without plastic water bottles. Impossible? Not anymore.
A Cape Town company, Fortis-X has developed a biodegradable bottle made from plants and is currently manufacturing a number of different size bottles.
Guy McDonald chatted to Nick de Beer about his sustainable product on Magic Breakfast:
Absolutely NO plastic is used to make the bottles, but their strength and performance is equal to that of plastic; which means they can be frozen, unlike glass, for juice and dairy applications.
The bottles biodegrade exceptionally well in compost and in some cases, complete biodegradation takes place in less than 30 days. Fortis-X also produces a biodegradable cap which is a world first. We think this is Magic!
