Expresso presenter Carissa Cupido and her husband, Muma Khumalo, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Zuri-Rose Nandi Khumalo.
Cupido shared the news on Instagram, introducing their daughter with photos of the newborn and one photo of her and Khumalo holding their baby.
“Hello Zuri-Rose Nandi Khumalo,” she wrote. “22 September 2026 will always mark our before and after. The most beautiful girl in the world. Thank you God for trusting us with this gift.”
Their daughter arrived just over three months after the couple announced they were expecting their first child.
Baby K has arrived
Cupido and Khumalo revealed the pregnancy on June 12 with a series of photographs from their maternity shoot.
“1+1=3. Baby K is on the way and SO so deeply loved already. Mom and Dad can’t wait to meet you, little one,” they captioned the post.
The couple had kept the pregnancy private for several months before sharing their news publicly.
In a joint statement shared with “TshisaLIVE”, the couple said they had quietly celebrated the pregnancy before deciding to invite others into the experience.
“For months, we have quietly treasured this sacred season,” they said in the statement.
They also described their unborn baby as a reflection of their commitment, faith and love for one another, calling the pregnancy an answered prayer.
From husband and wife to mom and dad
Cupido and Khumalo married in August 2025 and celebrated their first wedding anniversary in August this year.
On August 23, Cupido marked the milestone on Instagram, writing: “365 days of loving and learning you. Happy one year to us.”
She also reflected on the change that was ahead for them, writing: “From husband and wife to mom and dad. I can’t wait for this new chapter to beautifully unfold with you by my side.”
The anniversary came two months after the couple announced that they were expecting a baby.
At the time, the pregnancy announcement indicated that Baby Khumalo was due in October. Their daughter, however, arrived on September 22.
Cupido is known to South African audiences through her work as a presenter on Expresso and Good Hope FM.
Now, the couple’s long-awaited “Baby K” has arrived, with Zuri-Rose joining the Khumalo family as their first child.
