Cassie Ventura is leaving her old life in the United States behind with no intention of returning.
Following the intense federal criminal trial of her ex, Sean “Diddy” Combs, the 39-year-old “Long Way 2 Go” hitmaker has packed up and relocated outside of the US for a completely fresh start.
The update came to light through a court filing tied to an ongoing civil lawsuit.
In a signed legal declaration on May 1, Ventura made her plans clear, stating: “I reside outside of the United States. I do not intend to move back to the United States. I am a citizen of the United States. I am not a resident of the State of California.”
Inside the legal battle
The paperwork stems from a lawsuit filed by Clayton Howard, a former male escort who has made serious allegations involving both Ventura and the disgraced music mogul, Diddy.
In his court filings, Howard claims he was hired for “freak-offs”, which he alleges involved sexual exploitation and coercion.
Howard further alleges that he suffered physical and psychological harm during these encounters, accusing the pair of physical and psychological abuse, and claims Ventura infected him with an STD.
He also alleged that he fathered a pregnancy that ended in abortion. Because Howard previously worked with prosecutors in Diddy’s federal criminal case, he is part of a larger network of witnesses tied to these investigations.
However, Ventura’s legal team has filed a motion to dismiss the suit, characterising Howard’s allegations as a “personal vendetta”.
Because of her relocation, Ventura’s legal team is now trying to shift things around. While she lived on the East Coast during the 2025 trial, she is now asking to transfer Howard’s California lawsuit to New York.
She noted in the documents that travelling from her new home abroad to New York, where her primary legal team is based, would be “significantly more convenient”.
The cost of moving on
This ongoing drama comes after a string of massive legal battles. Previously, Ventura reached a settlement of approximately $20 million (roughly R324 million) with Diddy just one day after filing a lawsuit detailing years of abuse.
Separately, an additional settlement of around $10 million (R162 million) was reported involving the InterContinental Los Angeles Century Hotel, the site where shocking security footage of Diddy assaulting Ventura was captured.
According to reports online, moving her family out of the country is a deliberate choice to finally escape the intense public eye, non-stop media scrutiny and the heavy emotional toll of the Diddy trial.
While the court documents protect her privacy by hiding the exact country where she, her husband Alex Fine, and their children now live, it’s clear she is prioritising healing away from the US spotlight.
