Former Orlando Pirates midfield maestro Tso Vilakazi has heaped praise on Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs following their third consecutive win in the Betway Premiership at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Chiefs claimed a 1–0 victory over Richards Bay on Tuesday, courtesy of a Gaston Sirino strike in the 57th minute. But it wasn’t just the result that grabbed headlines; the Soweto giants also announced three new signings after the win.

The club confirmed the acquisitions of Etiosa Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi, and Luke Baartman in front of their home fans at the stadium.

Speaking after the match on the iDiski TV podcast, Vilakazi praised Amakhosi for the bold move and acknowledged the club’s growing momentum.

“Kaizer Chiefs is a very big team in South Africa and Africa. They have created history today; it’s the first team to announce players at the stadium after a win,” Vilakazi said

The Buccaneers’ all-time leading goalscorer added that while Amakhosi’s winning form is good for South African football, he remains slightly concerned about their ability to sustain it over the course of the season.

“Chiefs are winning, there is nothing wrong with it, it’s good for the team spirit and for everyone to come behind the team, especially because of what happened last season. When you see the team win, it gives you hope that everything will be okay,” he added.

“If they continue with what they are doing over the weekend, they will be surprises”.
