Musician Chomee has made a comeback just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Last week, the music icon and “Queen of Dance” released “TJOVITJO” (Bafana Is Back), along with the visuals.

The music video features Chomee’s signature dance energy, vibrant choreography and powerful visual storytelling inspired by South African football culture.

The video showcases beautifully choreographed dancers, energetic crowd scenes and emotionally charged football-inspired moments that are aimed at reconnecting audiences with the unforgettable atmosphere and unity experienced during the iconic 2010 football era in South Africa.

While the music video is visually appealing, it’s hard not to notice the artificially generated scenes of crowds and certain stadium moments.

Artists using AI as a tool to enhance their music has become increasingly common in the industry.

“Even dancers & back up artists are Ai generated. Not real human beings! Fnb stadium, fans af the stadium, cameras at the stadium, flags, sound….are all Ai generated.

“Nothing is genuine!! Even Chomee is AI!” tweeted @Constitution_94

@JoziLamla said: “No ways, using AI vocals on your own song as a legendary artist is a bit diabolical. We all know Chomee doesn’t even sing like that. 😭”

_uNonnie said: “I hate that Chommee agreed to that dizzy AI song. She deserved a better relaunch man.”

“TJOVITJO is about the people, the energy and the feeling football brings to South Africans. From the kasi to the stadium, this is our sound, our vibe and our moment,”  said Chomee in a press release.

“This moment feels like a homecoming for me. I’ve been away, growing and evolving, but coming back with TJOVITJO feels powerful. It’s not just a return to music, it’s a return to the heartbeat of the people, to the energy of the streets and the love South Africans have always shown me.”

The song has also drawn attention to whether it was officially commissioned by the government, but Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie poured cold water on speculation.

“This song was not paid or commissioned by @SportArtsCultur, this is an artist making music, catchy song if you ask me. I’m happy for Chomee, I hope this is her comeback,” tweeted the politician.
