Cristiano Ronaldo finally got the “click”!
Congratulations are in order for the Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, who recently announced their engagement.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, August 11, the Argentine-Spanish model shared the exciting news of their engagement as she showed off the giant diamond ring on her wedding finger, with Ronaldo’s hand in the frame.
The 31-year-old captioned her post: “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The couple have been together for nine years and met in 2016 when the model was still working at a Gucci store in Madrid.
They share two children out of the five kids the award-winning footballer has.
The public has closely followed the couple’s evolving love story, with much discussion surrounding their relationship and the swiftness of their engagement.
They have had mounting pressure from not only the public, but also friends who have always asked when Ronaldo will pop the question since they have been together for such a long time.
The model, who starred in her own Netflix reality show “I Am Georgina” three years ago, had previously commented on engagement rumours, stating on the show that her friends “were always joking about the wedding.”
“Since Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘The Ring Or When’ came out, they started singing it to me. And well, this is not up to me,” she said.
Responding to the model’s question, Ronaldo shared that they should wait for the “click” to get married; however, he is certain that they will get married.
“I always tell her, ‘When we get that click.’ Like everything with our life, and she knows what I’m talking about,” he said.
The footballer also added that the engagement or wedding could happen anytime.
“It could be in a year, or it could be in six months, or it could be in a month. I’m 1,000% sure that it’ll happen,” he said.
