South African DJ and producer Dlala Thukzin is preparing to step into a vibrant new chapter of his career with the release of his ninth solo album, “Ember“, scheduled to drop worldwide on October 30, 2026.

Known as one of South Africa’s most distinctive sound architects, the 29-year-old artist has carved out a defining presence in Afro-house, 3-Step, and African electronic music.

Speaking during an intimate studio Q&A session, Dlala Thukzin reflected on his ongoing evolution as an artist and shared what has been the most fulfilling aspect of his career so far.

Finding Joy in the Journey and Global Stages

When asked about the most enjoyable part of his growth across various phases and transitions, Dlala Thukzin highlighted the thrill of international travel and performing for diverse, passionate audiences abroad.

“Traveling and being able to play the music that I love… because people overseas dance until the end of the show,” he shared. “Overseas, you’re able to play everything, your album tracks, your full set. People are standing up, energy packed, until the very end.”

He contrasted the experience with performing locally, where crowds often have specific preferences or VIP table arrangements. Internationally, he explained, the atmosphere is unified and raw, allowing him total creative freedom to share his complete project directly with the crowd.

‘Ember’: A Statement of Longevity and Evolution

This global momentum directly aligns with his upcoming album, “Ember“, which symbolizes a creative fire that never fades. The album reflects an artist constantly in motion and expanding his reach across continents.

The album boasts an impressive list of collaborators, featuring heavyweights such as; Kabza Da Small, Sino Msolo, Stunna and Funky Qla.

Alongside the album release, Dlala Thukzin is set to bring his high-energy performances to international crowds with upcoming tour dates across Australia, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
