The Hollywood Bets Dolphins will have a tough task with the bat ahead of them on Sunday, as they chase down 345 runs to beat the Warriors at Gqebera.

Sarol Erwee and Daryn Dupavillion were removed from the crease by an in-form Senuran Muthusamy – who has had a phenomenal game against the Dolphins so far.

Muthusamy closed off Saturday’s session with figures of 2/0 in his first over of the day.

Tshepang Dithole and Bryce Parsons will resume play for the Dolphins on Sunday morning on 37/2.

The Dolphins did well with the ball on Saturday, cleaning through the Warriors middle order but struggled with the wicket of JP King, who slapped the Durban bowlers all over the park. King’s 143 was made up of five 6’s and 14 4’s and held a strike rate of 79.9.

Matthew De Villiers, Sinethemba Qeshile and Senuran Muthusamy could not withstand the pressure of the Dolphins attack and crumbled cheaply, leaving a hole in the middle order.

A voice that King tried to fill with whomever joined him at the crease. After lunch, the Warriors were on 184/6 and led by 240 runs. The Warriors are 225/7 at Drinks on Friday while King was on 91 and looked on his way to a century by this time. Tristan Luus finally removed King from the crease for 143 from 179 balls.

Luus was the pick of the bowlers for the Dolphins, producing a superb 4/49 after 51 just overs. Lulus finished the innings of 5/90 from his 25 overs.

Okuhle Cele was just as effective for the KZN team, claiming 4/51 from his 14.1 overs. Eathan Bosch took the only other wicket for the Dolphins.

Now fighting for a spot in the final match of the CSA 4-day cup, in what we can expect to take place against the DP Lions, the Dolphins will bat for a prospective final seat on Sunday.

The boys from Durban will need to follow through on a pitch that has looked favourable for both batting and bowling so far, however, the bowlers have enjoyed more success. The Dolphins have been lucky in that the Lions game has been rained out so far, giving them no room to extend the gap at the top.

The only other threat to a Dolphins V Lions final would be the Titans, who currently sit second on the standings. At stumps on day 3, Boland are 214/6 mid-way through their first innings. The Titans have not batted yet.
