Donald Trump: Make America Great Again, by playing golf again

Something was seriously wrong with Donald Trump, it seemed on Sunday.

The US President had not played golf going on two weeks, but those fears were put to bed when it turned out that the website didtrumpgolftoday.com was a bit behind with its updates.

As posted by TikTok user thehazeldomain, Trump had not played golf since August 10, meaning it was the longest time in his administration that he had not strolled down the fairways at great expense to the American taxpayers.

As it turned out, as the site had been updated on Monday, Trump has played golf every weekend day of August. That’s more weekend days than the majority of professional golfers in the world who miss the cut in their respective events.

Might we be receiving a happy announcement soon? EDIT TO ADD: the site has updated and now says he was golfing last weekend and this weekend 🙁 we live in hope though 🙁

Trump’s Golf Costs US Taxpayers $77 Million (R1.3 Billion)

According to the website, Trump’s time spent playing golf since returning to the office has cost the US taxpayers around $77 million, which works out to a staggering R1.3 billion.

It’s well known how much Trump loves his golf, best demonstrated by Ernie Els and Retief Goosen being part of the SA contingent, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, who met with the US leader in a highly publicised meeting in May.

Veteran Golfers Els and Goosen Aid Diplomacy Amidst Trump Connections

The two veteran golfers were roped in to help ease diplomatic relations between the two nations. Els and Goosen are also known to be personal friends with Trump.

SA businessman and massive supporter of SA golf, Rupert, was also in attendance. While Els, in particular, has come in for criticism for his support of Trump in the past, he is not the most vocal in his political beliefs among legendary SA golfers.

That honour should fall to Gary Player. Player, 89, has not hidden his support for Trump over the years – most notably accepting the Medal of Freedom during the President’s first term in office back in 2021.
