More than 71k containers stuck outside the port of Durban
Equipment breakdowns at the port of Durban is negatively impacting the container industry. That’s according to the South African Association of Freight Forwarders which says nearly 71,000 containers are stuck on ships outside the port. Transnet Port Terminals estimates it will take seven weeks to clear the backlog to offload cargo, with fears that for some items it may arrive at their destination too late.
