Tymicah (real name Tymicah Rielle) stands at the intersection of music and mathematics, shaping a career that blends artistry with financial acumen.

At 23, she has already reached the top of South African radio with each release, creating a sound that fuses house and R&B and continues to resonate with listeners.

Her music is only part of a larger vision. Tymicah also holds a degree in Actuarial Science and a strong understanding of investment, combining 15 years in entertainment with a rare fluency in finance.

This dual path led her to establish House of Rielle, a record label and creative studio.

The label aims to create safer spaces for women and to build a new model for the creative economy in South Africa. For Tymicah, the label is a direct response to the challenges she faced as a woman navigating the music industry.

“I created the label because I wanted to be the one to sign Tymicah,” she said.

“I struggled to find safe spaces as a woman in music, so I was tired of compromising my dignity. This label is about building the environment I need, where women can create freely, safely and independently, and once that model is polished, doing it again for others.”

Her latest single, “City of Angels”, is the first release under the label and captures the complexity of her journey.

“‘City of Angels’ came out of my own experiences in the industry – being surrounded by people who shine brightly on the surface, but whose motives don’t always align,” she explained.

“I wrote it like a hallucination, a search for guidance in the middle of all that chaos. At its core, it’s about the kind of genius whose mind sometimes outruns itself. It’s bold, a little surreal, but that’s exactly where I’m most interested as an artist, living in the tension between brilliance and fragility.”

Tymicah wants listeners to meet the song with intention.

“I don’t want ‘City of Angels’ to just be background music. I want people to really sit with it. The song is layered: it’s about glamour, disillusionment and the search for clarity when everything feels like smoke and mirrors.”

“I hope listeners critically engage with it, reflect on the masks people wear and maybe even see pieces of their own story in that tension.”

The recording label was built on the principle that safety and creativity are inseparable.

“At House of Rielle, the vision is simple: safety first, creativity second, because the two are inseparable,” Tymicah said.

“We prioritise safer spaces by setting clear boundaries in how we work: choosing collaborators who respect women, creating transparent agreements and keeping control of our environments, whether in the studio or on stage. That structure allows artists to focus fully on the work, and that’s where real innovation happens.”

The label began with a pre-seed raise from E Squared Investments.

Tymicah sees her own career as the proof of concept for the model. “I’m deeply curious about what’s possible in this space,” she said.

“For me, it’s about creating excellent art, building a culture of excellence and contributing to a South Africa that no longer sees artists as starving, but as vital to the economy.”

Collaboration is central to her plans, though she keeps future partnerships under wraps.

“Collaborations are definitely part of the vision, but I’ll keep my bucket list a secret for now,” she said.

“The strategy for the label begins with me as the flagship artist, proving the model through my own career.

“From there, we’ll expand by investing in other women: stage presence, sound, branding and building a culture where artists collaborate across experience levels and learn to see their art as both creativity and business.”
