Mzansi’s biggest music celebration is back, and this year, the South African Music Awards are returning to the North West for a star-studded SAMA32.
The 32nd South African Music Awards, dubbed the “Homecoming Edition”, takes place tonight, Saturday, August 15, at the Sun City Superbowl. The awards return to the province after previously being held at Sun City in 2022.

Where to watch the SAMAs
The SAMA32 main ceremony will be broadcast on SABC1 from 8.00pm tonight.
Music fans can also follow the awards online, with the SAMAs continuing to use digital platforms as part of its broadcast offering. The official SAMA website also carries information and updates around the ceremony.
Who is hosting SAMA32?
This year’s ceremony has an interesting hosting combination.
Award-winning rapper Cassper Nyovest has been named the main host, marking a notable reunion between the musician and the SAMAs after years of tension between the two.
He will be joined by 5FM presenter Zanele Potelwa, who will co-host the main ceremony at Sun City.
The official red carpet has its own hosting team, with Fresh By Caddy and Munaka Muthambi set to welcome guests and capture the fashion and celebrity moments before the main ceremony.
Meanwhile, Anele Zondo hosted the SAMA32 Industry Awards, which took place on August 14.
Who will perform at SAMA32?
The awards will not be short on entertainment, with several South African artists set to take the stage.
The confirmed performance line-up includes:
Ntencane, Focalistic, Shandesh, Makhadzi and Mmotana Dance Company.
The SAMAs have teased further performances and collaborations as part of the star-studded line-up for the Homecoming Edition.

Tyla and Oskido among the night’s big moments

Global superstar Tyla will be at the ceremony to accept one of the SAMAs’ highest honours. The two-time Grammy Award winner is being recognised for her contribution to South African music and her growing impact on the international stage.
Another major moment will be the recognition of legendary DJ and producer Oskido, who is set to receive both the Lifetime Achievement Award and International Achievement Award.
