It’s been 49 days since season 5 of the controversial show hit Mzansi’s screens, and only 14 housemates remain inside the “Big Brother” house after two were evicted Sunday night during the eviction show.

One of them was Muzi-The Mbuzi – real name Muziomhle Mdluli – a vibrant and energetic contestant who made a lasting impression on the show from the day he walked into the Big Brother house. He did everything from sharing cuddles with his fellow housemate, Nsuku, to being the “class clown”.

The 29-year-old creative, hailing from Kempton Park, spoke to IOL about his journey on “Big Brother Mzansi”, his reaction to being evicted, the experiences in the house, and what’s next for him.

He stood up for the first time on Sunday night during the eviction show when he was nominated for the first time. When asked about his expectations regarding his eviction, he revealed that he had mixed feelings.

“I was expecting it and not expecting it at the same time, I didn’t expect to see myself leaving, especially because I was nominated for the first time, maybe I was too chilled because there were a few of us remaining so I didn’t see myself leaving anytime soon,” he said.

Muzi-The Mbuzi also shared that his initial game plan was to wait it out and see how he could switch things up in the house, but he says there was no time to actually act on it. He had hoped to make it to the top 10 but ultimately finished in the top 15.

During his time in the house, Muzi-The Mbuzi learned valuable lessons about himself, particularly regarding resilience and patience.

“What I’ve learned about myself is that I’m a resilient human being, and I’ve learned that I can also be patient,” he reflected.

He also discussed his personal style and preferences and how he believes in being a different individual instead of being like everyone else.

When asked about his future plans, the multi-talented creative expressed his desire to return to the real world and check on his business, a clothing brand he owns called “Naka Indaba Zakho” which translates to “mind your own business”. He also added that he wants to travel and perform gigs around the world.

He also shared that he had been working on new music before going to the Big Brother house, including two upcoming hip-hop songs.

With the exposure and influence from Big Brother, he plans to push his brand and “spread positive energy”.

His plans also include sharing his infectious energy and positivity with the world by continuing to exude the vibrant personality that made him a fan favorite on “Big Brother Mzansi.”
