IOL’s ambitious expansion project continues to gain momentum, with the recruitment process well under way as the organisation advances its strategy to become South Africa’s largest and most influential digital publisher across all platforms.
As part of the first phase of expansion, IOL will onboard over 50 new employees across editorial, digital, product and technology teams in the next month, with further appointments planned as the expansion progresses.
Several key leadership appointments have already been finalised, with formal announcements to be made next week.
IOL CEO Viasen Soobramoney said the response to the recruitment drive reflected the confidence that media professionals have in the organisation’s vision.
“We are building a future-focused newsroom and digital publishing business that will redefine the South African media landscape. We are excited to welcome the next wave of journalists, editors, digital specialists and innovators to IOL.”
Soobramoney said the expansion forms part of IOL’s long-term investment in quality journalism, digital innovation and audience growth.
“We are investing in people, technology and content to ensure IOL becomes South Africa’s biggest and most influential digital publisher across all platforms. Our focus remains on delivering trusted, impactful journalism while building a sustainable, world-class digital media business.”
