Mandela Day 2020 will be very different as COVID-19 regulations prevent large gatherings.
However, we can still make a difference in the lives of South Africans through Ladles of Love and the Jenny Morris Soup Kitchen Drop-Off.
On Friday 17 July 2020, Jenny Morris and Magic 828 will take over the Cape Quarter in Green Point and offer you the opportunity to drop-off hard vegetables and dry pantry goods to be passed on to this year’s beneficiary, Ladles of Love.
Ladles of Love are supplying food to various soup kitchens and shelters and working with 110 beneficiaries and NPOs (who support a further 250 beneficiaries of their own) to get food out where it is needed most.
This year more than ever we are in need of ingredients to be able to feed the less fortunate.
Here is how you can get involved:
WHEN: Friday 17 July from 10:00 until 13:30
WHERE: The Cape Quarter in Green Point
WHAT: Hard vegetables (potatoes, butternut, onions, carrots, pumpkin etc) and pantry goods ( oil, sugar, jam, dried peas, samp, peanut butter etc)
Catch Jenny Morris on Magic Breakfast with Guy McDonald on Wednesday 15 July just after 8:30 am.
> Social distancing must be adhered to.
> This event is purely for drop-off purposes.
> The Jenny Morris Soup Kitchen Drop-Off is NOT a gathering.
