In a separate matter, the Parow Regional Court convicted Mohamed Imran, 39, and Suraya Imran, 37, on charges of fraud and uttering.
According to Vukubi, the investigation started in March 2023, after the Hawks followed up with information regarding two vehicles that were obtained fraudulently.
“The vehicles, a white Toyota Fortuner and a white Mercedes-Benz ML250 were indeed found in possession of the accused persons, which resulted in the vehicles being seized,” Vukubi said.
The matter has been postponed until September 21, for sentencing.
