Kanye West’s much-anticipated Johannesburg concert, originally scheduled for next week, at Ellis Park Stadium, has been postponed, organisers confirmed on Monday.

What was supposed to be Kanye West’s massive Johannesburg comeback has been paused yet again. The rapper’s controversial December 13 show has officially been postponed, leaving fans with more questions than answers.

The organisers confirmed today and according to the statement, new dates and a new venue are still being finalised, leaving fans in limbo once again. Promoters, however, assured that all ticket holders for the December show will receive full refunds, processed through TicketPro.

The postponement comes after months of speculation and growing scepticism around the event, which has faced issues from the moment it was announced in September. Ticket sales opened later than promised and raised eyebrows when the purchasing link redirected fans to a Google form rather than the official ticketing platform.

Organisers say the delay is due to an expanded vision for the concert.

They added that Kanye West remains “committed and excited” about performing in South Africa and sharing the experience with global audiences through a broadcast element.

In a surprising twist, the statement also confirmed that Yeezy LLC has cut ties with the previously announced promoter, Monyake Group, citing non-compliance, adding yet another layer to the months-long confusion surrounding the event.

For now, fans will need to wait for a new date, new venue, and hopefully, clearer communication from the Yeezy camp.
