“Generations: The Legacy” actress Kgomotso Christopher is beaming with pride after her daughter Laronalehakwe Christopher passed matric with flying colours.
The actress shared a video on her Instagram stories of her welcoming her daughter home and singing in excitement, and counting up to six in celebration of her daughter’s distinctions.
Taking to X, Kgomotso went on to share how the family was proud of her daughter and congratulated her alma mater, St Mary’s Waverly’s class of 2025.
“Thank you so much. We are so proud of her! Congratulations to my Alma Mater, @StMarysWaverley Class of 2025!! Indeed, my “little” one Laronalehakwe, outdid herself. Hard work pays off and God is Good.”
St Mary’s Waverly’s class of 2025 recently celebrated a 100% pass rate, 99%+ Bachelor’s Pass, and 455 distinctions (averaging 4.14 per student).
Another celebrity child who passed is “The Real Housewives of Durban” star Nonku Williams’ daughter, Nothile, whose father is the late gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane.
Nonku took to social media to share her joy after her daughter achieved impressive results.
“Beyond proud of my daughter @williamsnothile for passing her matric with two distinctions and a Bachelor’s pass! All glory to God, with Him, all things are possible. His guidance made this journey beautiful,” she wrote.
SA’s Class of 2025 crossed the finish line with a record national matric pass rate of 88%, education minister Siviwe Gwarube said on Monday night. That is the highest in the country’s history.
And it was KwaZulu-Natal that reigned supreme, recording 90,6%, followed by the Free State with 89.33% and Gauteng with 89.06%.
The North West banked 88.49% in fourth place, followed by the Western Cape with 88.2% and the Northern Cape with 87.79%.
Mpumalanga recorded 86.55%, Limpopo 86.15%, while the Eastern Cape finished on 84.17%.
