The “bush getaway” trend on X has taken over timelines, and Bonang Matheba couldn’t resist joining in on the fun by sharing snippets of her own bush escape.
The now viral craze began when X user @Kagiso_x shared snaps from a trip with his partner.
“In the bush with the woman I’m in love with. Everything makes sense,” he wrote alongside four images.
One photo showed luxury gifts for his lady, another gave a glimpse of the location, while the rest showed a flashy BMW and an expensive bottle of Don Julio tequila.
It didn’t take long for South Africans to respond to his post by sharing their own bush getaways. The posts followed a similar theme of showing off cars, stunning views, premium drinks and romantic moments with loved ones.
The original post already has over 23 million views and nearly 39,000 likes.
You know a trend has taken off when celebrities jump on it, especially someone like Bonang, who rarely gives fans a peek into her personal life.
Thanking her man, she wrote: “… we all deserve a bush holiday. Thank you to my man.”
In true Bonang fashion, her snaps are as glamorous as ever.
From the sleek luxury car to her chic safari outfit set against a stunning bushveld backdrop, her post has already hit a million views since she shared it yesterday.
She isn’t the only celebrity who joined the trend. Globetrotting Dr Musa Mthombeni also posted images from his bush escape, writing: “Every week or monthly… every chance you get.”
Musa and his wife, Liesl Laurie, are no strangers to sharing their adventures.
The couple recently travelled to Hong Kong and the Philippines, adding the bush getaway to their ever-growing list of shared experiences.
