South African star Makhadzi has updated her fans on her recovery following a car accident last week, mentioning she’ll have 10 weeks of home care without performing.

The South African music sensation, whose given name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, announced on X that she has been released from the hospital.

“I’m now discharged from the hospital so that my family can take care of me until I get back to normal,” she wrote in a post on X.

This comes after her management company, Makhadzi Entertainment, confirmed last week that the singer was involved in a car accident on the morning of December 31, while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.

Award-winning singer Makhadzi is known for hit songs such as “Umjolo” and “Kokota,” which fuse her Venda heritage with contemporary dance music. Her achievements include numerous accolades, notably the 2024 BET Award for Best New International Act.

Her collaborations with prominent South African original music artists, including Mlindo, Master KG, King Monada, Jah Prayzah, and Sho Madjozi, have significantly boosted her recognition across the country, earning widespread adoration from her fans.

She has now informed her fans that she did not lose her voice, but she’s still taking care of her health with advice from her doctor.

“From my treatment, I have been receiving from my doctor, she advised that from all the injuries, I will have to remain at home care for 10 weeks without performing,” she said.

Although she confirmed she won’t be performing, she noted that she will be in the studio focusing on what she believes is her God-given purpose.
