The Msunduzi Association of Residents, Ratepayers and Civics ( MARRC) was presented with an international iZinga assist verification icon in April 2026.

The icon recognises MARRC’s excellence, transformative impact, and deep commitment to trust and transparency. iZinga Assist is a new United Kingdom-based digital verification, compliance, ratings, and assistance platform focusing on sub-Saharan non-profit organisations (NPOs).

This prestigious recognition is awarded exclusively to NPOs that demonstrate exceptional standards in legal, governance, financial management, and impact.

MARRC CEO Anthony Waldhausen said this reflects the organisation’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community impact.

“This is a milestone for MARRC, and receiving the iZinga icon demonstrates that we are a credible organisation and that prospective donors can be reassured that their investments will be used for project activities and that their funds will be well managed,” he said.

Waldhausen said they registered MARRC on the iZinga Assist platform and had to complete a rating task regarding legal status, governance, financial matters, and impact, which included submitting all compliance documents and organisational and project information.

“We also look forward to partnering with iZinga Assist on many projects and support.”

Waldhausen said the organisation demonstrated strong governance, with accountable leadership structures, clear decision-making processes, and ethical oversight.

“We have maintained financial transparency, providing clear, accurate reporting on how funds are acquired and managed. It signals to donors, funders, and the broader public that we operate with integrity, accountability, and excellence,” he added.

Max Roux of iZinga Assist said that the verification systems are helping more than 250 organisations.

As a verified 5-star organisation, MARRC is now eligible to receive a Shoprite discount card, providing access to exclusive, reduced pricing on a range of essential items for the organisation.

They can also redeem donor funds directly in-store via Shoprite’s Money Market system. Lastly, MARRC can access secure, traceable donor-funded goods and services through a transparent channel backed by the iZinga Assist platform.

“We congratulate them on this achievement and thank them for their continued dedication to meaningful, lasting change. This verification icon is more than just a symbol — it’s a mark of trust,” Roux said.

iZinga Assist stated that MARRC has fulfilled all legal requirements, including up-to-date registration, compliance with relevant legislation, and proper documentation.
