MK Party member, Mzwanele Manyi, has dismissed claims that he has resigned from the party, indicating that he has no intention of leaving.

This comes after reports claimed that Manyi had tendered his resignation to the party.

“Please stop that nonsense. I’m still a member of the MK party. No intentions of resigning whatsoever,” he said in a video posted on X.

Despite his removal from the position, Manyi expressed his commitment to continue working for MKP.

“We have got work to do. We have got a tremendous majority to attain. Stop distracting us, we are busy, we are building MK,” he said.

Manyi was removed from his parliamentary post following a reported fallout with party caucus leader Dr. John Hlophe last month.

While Manyi denies any conflict, asserting that the party provided alternative reasons for his dismissal, sources indicate that a behind-the-scenes disagreement regarding a last-minute speech change may have contributed to the tension.

Reports suggest that Manyi encouraged Hlophe—who was set to deliver the MKP’s official response to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address—to replace his prepared remarks with a speech Manyi provided just moments before the address.

Manyi reportedly claimed the speech originated from party founder Jacob Zuma.

However, it was later reported that Zuma was not aware of the address, leading to concerns within the caucus.

Hlophe is said to have confronted Manyi over the deception in a heated internal meeting.

The incident has highlighted challenges within the newly formed MK Party, prompting discussions about leadership dynamics and transparency.
