Its yet another day of rolling blackouts with Eskom saying that heightened levels of power cuts will be implemented until further notice. Construction of first biophilic building in Africa to take place soon
Construction has started on The Fynbos, the first biophilic building in Africa which will be constructed in the heart of the Cape Town CBD. SASSA extends validity of gold cards to the end of the year
SASSA has extended the validity of gold cards until the end of the year. Sassa says the extension will ensure cardholders can access their grants. Beneficiaries who don’t wish to renew their card can choose to be paid into their personal bank accounts or use Postbank’s cardless system.
Bheki Mlangeni Hospital performs first heart surgery
The Bheki Mlangeni Hospital in Soweto has made history by performing its first heart surgery. The patient is said to have been stabbed while assisting a learner after a mugging and required a heart surgery. As the patient was too unstable to transfer, staff decided to operate on him at the hospital.
