Potato and egg prices increase

Potatoes and egg prices skyrocketed this year.
Reports suggests that potato prices increased by almost 65-percent in the year to November, while egg prices climbed 40-percent.
The increase in egg prices was fuelled by the worst bird flu outbreak in South Afrca’s history.
Meanwhile, poultry meat prices are expected to continue rising amid shortages.

DA councillor arrested for murder of wife and kids 

DA councillor in KZN Michael Buthelezi has been arrested for the murders of his wife and three children killed during a fire attack at their Bergville home in October this year. Buthelezi also sustained burn wounds during the attack and was hospitalised, but his wife, two daughters and their son never made it.

Yellow Level Two weather warning for severe thunderstorms for parts of the country today 

The South African Weather Service issued a Yellow Level Two warning for severe thunderstorms in some parts of the country today.
Heavy downpours, as well as large amounts of small hail, are expected over Gauteng, the Western Bushveld of Limpopo, and the west and central parts of Mpumalanga.
Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are expected over the western parts of the North West, west and central parts of the Free State, and the eastern parts of the Northern Cape until Saturday.

South Africans who join Israeli Defence Force will be prosecuted for breaking the law – Dept of International Relations 

South Africans wanting to join the Israeli Defence Force will be prosecuted for breaking the law.
This is according to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
The warning comes after the department received reports of citizens joining the Israeli Defence Force in the war on Gaza.
