South Africans granted a public holiday after the Bok world cup victory 

South Africans have been granted a public holiday after the Springbok win against the All Blacks at the weekend, but we have to wait until Friday the 15th of December. That was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his family meeting last night saying that we will have to wait till then because he would like to matric class to focus on their exams.

Petrol and diesel price drop come midnight 

There’s some reprieve at the pumps for motorists from midnight tonight. Thats after the Department of Mineral Resources and energy announced a fuel price drop for all grades of petrol and diesel. From tomorrow you will be paying around R1,78cents a litre less for petrol while diesel will cost between 82 and 85 cents less per litre.

Drivers driving drunk sees an uptick- COCT 

The City’s Traffic Services is issuing a stern warning to motorists who are caught on the wrong side of the law. Over the past week more than 48,800 fines were issued for various traffic and bylaw offences, with 124 arrests made, most of them for driving drunk and several for reckless and negligent driving. Traffic officers say that over 214 vehicles were impounded over the same time period.

Finance Minister expected to deliver his Medium Term Budget Police Statement tomorrow 

The Finance Ministers Medium Term Budget Policy Statement is expected to set out the policy framework for the upcoming budget and will provide an update on Treasury’s assessment of the current economic climate. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is set to deliver the Budget Policy Statement in the National Assembly tomorrow and him also expected to explain the choices the country must make to ensure stable and sustainable economic growth. It comes amid criticism of the Treasury for suggesting budget cuts to government departments, entities and provincial governments.
