South Korean DJ and songwriter, Peggy Gou (real name Kim Min-ji), is coming to SA!

The 34-year-old German-based DJ has been announced as the headliner of the Black Coffee Weekender main event, which is set to take place in February 2026 in the Mother City.

Gou will be joined by DJ Black Coffee on stage, and for the first time, she will be bringing her signature sound to her SA audience.

She rose to fame in 2010 and is now known for her energetic and unique blend of house, techno, disco and K-pop and has been making waves in the electronic music scene.

She has produced hits such as “(It Goes Like) NaNaNa”, “I Believe In Love Again” featuring American songwriter, Lenny Kravitz and “Find The Way”.

In addition, she has gained a massive fanbase worldwide and is now an internationally acclaimed DJ, who is known in South Korea, Ibiza, Japan, London and Berlin.

Beyond her work as a DJ, she has cultivated a lifestyle movement that merges fashion, art and music.

The three-day festival builds on the success of its 2025 debut, which featured Copenhagen-based pop trio Whomadewho, which sold out and attracted 10 000 people.

Last year’s festival also featured local DJs such as Shoba, Sotoffella, FKA Mash and Sona, who brought nothing but good vibes and energetic performances.

The Black Coffee Weekender is curated by the multi-award-winning DJ, who continues to merge global sounds with African excellence.

This year’s festival will run from February 27 until March 1 2026, and it kicks off with a charity dinner on Friday.

The main event and the highlight of the entire weekend follows and will be held on Saturday, then on Sunday, the festival wraps up with a brunch afterparty.

Next year’s edition promises a full weekend escape filled with nothing but music, culture, style and unforgettable performances.

The full line-up of the event is yet to be announced.
