Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime in Transformers, dies aged 85

Peter Cullen, the voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise, has died.  He was 85-years-old.

While the cause of death has not been confirmed at this stage, TMZ has reported that Cullen, died at his home on Wednesday.

A relative who spoke to TMZ said Cullen died surrounded by his family.

The actor was also the voice behind Predator in the hit film back in 1987.

Cullen was also the voice of Eeyore in ‘Winnie The Pooh’, Monterey Jack in ‘Chip ‘ n Dale Rescue Rangers’, KARR in ‘Knight Rider’, and Mario in the original ‘Donkey Kong’ according to TMZ.

It’s been a rough week for the Entertainment industry. This week, US country music legend Dolly Parton died at the age of 80. Tim Curry, the English actor best known for his star turn as Dr Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic musical film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” also died at the age of 80.
