Reprieve for diesel vehicle owners from next month
Diesel vehicle owners can expect some relief at the pumps next month.
Reports suggest that this comes as the latest snapshot of fuel prices from the Central Energy Fund shows favourable conditions for a diesel price drop.
Diesel is predicted to decrease by around one rand 12 cents per litre.
Petrol is however predicted to increase by around 60 cents per litre.
281 lifeguards deployed to pools across the Cape Metro
Brown’s Farm and Trafalgar swimming pools opened their gates this past weekend, bringing to 17 the number of community pools now in operation over weekends. So far 76% of visitors recorded at the two facilities were children. A total of 281 lifeguards have been placed at pools and are on duty, ensuring a safe experience to the community.
Gauteng Health settles R240million debt
The Gauteng Department of Health says it has settled its outstanding water bill of 240 million rand.
This comes after the City of Johannesburg called on the department to settle its outstanding debt. Gauteng health says the debt the city referred to, was a historical dispute on the water and sanitation accounts of two hospitals in the province.

A piece of paper signed by Charles Darwin, defending his theory of evolution, is going on sale today with an auction house in New York.
The item is likely to fetch over a million pounds – a world-record price for a Darwin manuscript.
He’d produced the document so it could be copied in what, was a celebrity magazine in 1865.
