David and Victoria Beckham’s son Romeo Beckham has touched down in South Africa, with the 23-year-old model and former footballer already turning heads during his visit to Cape Town.

A video circulating on TikTok appears to show Beckham leaving Cape Town International Airport earlier this week, dressed casually and wearing a jacket from his fashion label, Intra. The footage was posted by TikTok user Miche Abrahams and prompted reactions from local fans.

While the exact reason for Beckham’s South African trip has not been confirmed, his social media activity suggests that he is making the most of his time in the Western Cape.

The son of football legend David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham has shared photographs from the trip, including images of himself surrounded by the dramatic mountains and landscapes synonymous with Cape Town.

He captioned one series of photographs simply, “Wow!”, accompanied by a South African flag emoji.

Romeo Beckham explores the Mother City

Beckham is reportedly travelling around the Western Cape with French-Tunisian talent agent Saif Mahdhi and Polish model and activist Anja Rubik.

The group has reportedly been spotted exploring some of Cape Town’s most recognisable locations, including Chapman’s Peak and Noordhoek’s Long Beach.

One of Beckham’s own Instagram posts also showed him exploring the area around the Signal Hill Kramat.

Mahdhi’s social media posts have added another layer of intrigue to the trip.

According to Time Out South Africa, Mahdhi shared images featuring a “filming in progress” sign, while another showed a film crew dealing with an unexpected snake on location.

This has fuelled speculation that Beckham’s trip could be connected to a creative or fashion project, although neither Beckham nor his representatives have confirmed that he is in South Africa for work.

A South African connection

Interestingly, Beckham arrived in South Africa at a time when his relationship with Mzansi fashion had already been making headlines.

In July 2026, the former footballer was spotted wearing a striking green-and-gold South African national team-inspired jacket at a Dallas Cowboys game.

The jacket was designed by South African Olympic swimmer-turned-designer Calvyn Justus for Intra, the sportswear brand Beckham co-founded with Justin Saul.

The look caught the attention of Team South Africa, which shared a photograph of Beckham wearing the jacket and wrote: “We see you, Romeo, rocking the green and gold.”

The jacket features South African-inspired elements, including the country’s green-and-gold colours and the protea.

For Justus, the collaboration is particularly personal. The South African swimmer has represented the country at the Olympics and is set to compete at his third Commonwealth Games. He has also been developing his career in fashion alongside his sporting journey.

Justus previously described the Intra collaboration as a way of connecting his design ambitions with his life as an athlete.

There is no official confirmation about whether the trip is for business, filming, fashion, or simply a holiday.
