The 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32) has announced Anele Zondo as host of its Industry Awards, while Fresh By Caddy and Munaka Muthambi will front the official red carpet coverage ahead of this year’s ceremony at Sun City on August 15.
SAMA32, sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation, has revealed the personalities who will host two of the event’s most anticipated segments as excitement builds towards South Africa’s biggest celebration of music.
Multi-talented entertainer Anele Zondo will host the Industry Awards, while media personalities Fresh By Caddy and Munaka Muthambi will lead the official SAMA32 red carpet, bringing viewers the latest celebrity arrivals, fashion and behind-the-scenes moments.
The awards ceremony will take place at Sun City Resort in North West on August 15.
SAMA spokesperson Unathi Gwija said the hosts were selected for the energy and experience they bring to the event.
“The Industry Awards celebrate the incredible talent and craftsmanship that drive our music industry behind the scenes, and Anele Zondo brings the charisma, professionalism and stage presence needed to honour those achievements,” Gwija said.
He added that Fresh By Caddy and Munaka Muthambi had established themselves as engaging entertainment personalities and were well suited to capture the excitement of the red carpet while reflecting this year’s theme, “The Future Sounds Like Now Now.”
For Zondo, hosting the Industry Awards marks another milestone in a career spanning music, television and entertainment.
“It’s an honour for me to be hosting the SAMA Industry Awards this year,” she said.
“I believe these awards are pivotal in shining a light on the producers, directors, engineers and the many brilliant creative minds who dedicate themselves to their craft every single day, often without being in the forefront.”
She said she was proud to be part of an event recognising those whose work helps shape South African music.
Fresh By Caddy said hosting the SAMA32 red carpet was a special opportunity.
“The SAMAs represent the excellence, creativity and diversity of South African music, so to be trusted to help tell that story from the red carpet is a real honour,” he said.
He added that he looked forward to celebrating local artists and bringing his own style and energy to the event.
Munaka Muthambi described the opportunity as a “full-circle moment”, saying she had grown up watching the SAMAs and was grateful to now be part of the awards.
SAMA32 is supported by the Motsepe Foundation, the North West provincial government, SA Tourism, the SABC, the South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA), the Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO), the Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (CAPASSO), the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), RiSA Audio Visual (RAV), MNM Funerals, Settlers Media, NX and IOL.
Organisers said the awards continue to play an important role in promoting the North West Province as a cultural, tourism and entertainment destination while generating economic activity through the annual event.
