Siwelele FC have relieved head coach Lehlohonolo Seema and assistant coach Willem Jackson of their first-team duties following a disappointing start to the 2026/27 season.
The club announced the decision on Monday, confirming that Godfrey Mosoetsa will take charge of the first team as caretaker coach with immediate effect.
This comes after the club suffered a 3-2 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
Siwelele will now conduct a review of the senior team’s performances and technical programme before deciding on their coaching approach for the remainder of the season.
The club admitted that the start to the campaign has fallen below expectations, with supporters demanding better from the team.
“This has been a challenging period for the club, and our supporters deserve better than what they have seen so far this season,” Siwelele said in a statement.
Despite the decision to remove Seema and Jackson, the club insisted that its belief in the squad and the project remains unchanged.
“Our belief in this team, in our players and in what we are building at Siwelele remains unchanged.”
Mosoetsa now faces the immediate task of steadying the team while the club considers its next move.
Siwelele called for unity as they look to turn their fortunes around, insisting that the season is still in its early stages.
“This is a moment to stand together, to work harder and to embody the spirit that defines this club: courage, unity and fighting for one another.”
“Our season is still young. We will face the challenge in front of us together, as one team and one family.”
The club said a further announcement on the coaching structure will be made once the review has been completed.
Siwelele added that it would not comment further while the process is under way.
Siwelele are among the five winless clubs after five matchdays of the 2026/2027 season. The list includes Richards Bay, Chippa United, Marumo Gallants and Kruger United.
