There’s some good news for motorists next month as the petrol price is expected to drop. Despite recent Rand weakness, the fuel outlook for June remains positive with significant reductions in all fuels likely in June. Both grades of petrol may be heading for decreases of around R1 per litre, while the decreases in diesel are currently standing at around R1.30 per litre.

The Cape Education Department has promised to continue working to reverse the learning losses brought on by the Covid pandemic. It was revealed this week that 81 percent of grade four learners cannot read with meaning, which is up by 3 percent compared to 2016.
City’s Law Enforcement hard at work to clampdown on criminal element during times of loadshedding
The City of Cape Town’s Law enforcement officers say they are hard at work to clampdown on the criminal element wreaking havoc during times of loadshedding. Law Enforcement officers on patrol on the N1 this week are said to have noticed a trench being dug near Lower Church Street in Woodstock. After arresting a 33 year old man, it was discovered that he had already cut into and dug up a significant length of cabling.
Sweden on course to become the world’s first smoke-free country
Sweden is on course to become one of the world’s first “smoke-free” countries, defined as less than 5% of the adult population smoking. It is set to achieve this significant milestone in the coming months – 17 years ahead of the EU’s 2040 target, with smoking rates falling from 15% to 5.6% over the past 15 years.
