As “Scandal!” prepares to take its final bow, the long-running e.tv favourite is ending on a high note.

The award-winning soapie has announced new talent with Jo-Anne Reyneke, Camilla Waldman and Sonia Mbele joining the cast, bringing a new layer of drama and star power to its final season.

Viewers can be excited because the addition of the three acclaimed actresses marks the beginning of an exciting new storyline that promises to keep fans captivated until the very end.

Each of them takes on a powerful role that adds depth, intrigue and a fresh dynamic to the show’s closing chapter.

Reyneke stars as Buyi “Keyes” Mlotshwa, a driven talent scout and media mogul who heads Bheka Mina Media.

Known for discovering unknowns and turning them into stars, Buyi is a woman who knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. Ambitious, stylish and strategic, she rules her world with confidence and charm.

Mbele takes on the role of Mamsie, a poetic and unpredictable character whose charm hides a calculating mind. With her love for drama, vintage flair and a mysterious past, Mamsie knows how to keep everyone guessing while always staying one step ahead.

The iconic Waldman plays Nina Bishop, a top defence attorney who commands the courtroom with precision and power. Fearless and relentless, Nina uses her legal expertise to dominate every case she touches.

Head writer and creative producer Grace Mahlaba said the new storyline gives “Scandal!” an opportunity to explore richer, more complex themes that mirror the world of its viewers.

She described the trio as representing ambition, reinvention and power, three qualities that perfectly capture the energy of the show’s final season.

“Each of these women embodies strength and vulnerability in different ways, and audiences are going to be blown away by what’s coming,” Mahlaba added.

After more than two decades on air, “Scandal!” will officially conclude in June 2026.

“e.tv” recently announced that the series had reached the end of its journey, marking the close of a chapter that has defined South African television.

Since its debut, the soapie has managed to have viewers on the edge of their seats, earning a reputation for its bold storytelling, memorable characters and its ability to reflect everyday life in a way that resonated with millions.

Stan Joseph, executive producer at Ochre Moving Pictures, expressed gratitude to the cast, crew and loyal audiences who supported the show over the years. He said producing “Scandal!” had been an incredible experience and that the team was proud of the legacy it leaves behind.
