The stage is set for one of South Africa’s biggest nights in music, with the South African Music Awards (SAMA32) unveiling a line-up that brings together some of the country’s biggest names alongside rising stars.
Taking place at the Sun City Superbowl on August 15, this year’s awards, dubbed the Homecoming Edition, will feature performances spanning hip hop, amapiano, Afro-pop, soul, traditional music and alternative sounds.
Leading the performance line-up are Cassper Nyovest, Makhadzi, Babalwa M, Lordkez, Stoan, Ntencane, Shandesh, Mo’ Molemi, Tuks Senganga, Langa Mavuso, Beast RSA, Dladla Mshunqisi, Will Linley, Nia Pearl, Sam Deep and Dan Shaw.
The awards ceremony will also feature performances by the internationally acclaimed Mmabana Dance Company and Christian Progressive College, adding a theatrical element to the evening’s celebrations.
Beyond performing, Cassper Nyovest will also co-host the awards alongside television and radio personality Zanele Potelwa.
According to SAMA32 spokesperson Unati Gwija, this year’s programme has been designed to celebrate both established artists and the next generation shaping the country’s music industry.
“The South African Music Awards have always been about celebrating the extraordinary talent that defines our nation’s soundtrack,” Gwija said.
“This year’s performance line-up reflects the diversity, creativity and global influence of South African music. Audiences can expect an immersive live production that celebrates established legends alongside the new generation of stars who continue to shape the future of our industry.”
Held under the theme “The Future Sounds Like Now Now”, this year’s ceremony aims to celebrate the artists, producers and songwriters whose work has defined the past year while showcasing the continued evolution of South African music on the global stage.
Over the years, the SAMAs have become more than an awards ceremony, serving as one of the country’s biggest showcases of musical talent and a platform that highlights South Africa’s diverse sounds to local and international audiences.
SAMA32 takes place on 15 August at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West Province.
