On the Indaba Show this week Steven Taylor speaks to Abygail Human, a model and actress from Delft, Cape Town.

The 26-year-old recently starred in the short film titled ‘Love In The Hell’ which won the Best International Short Film award at the Bech Test Film Festival (BTFF) in Scotland.

As a young, single mom, Human says she has faced many adversities in life and still struggles with mental health challenges. However, her determined spirit has taught her to rise above life’s difficulties.

“I think I started learning from my area, because I told myself, I need to get up and do it and be a change for the youth in my area. And I also did it for my child because my child had to look up to me,” she said.

Speaking on her acting career, she said she hopes her son can see her as a strong woman both on screen and in real life.

“I want to be an inspiration to him. Someone who he can say ‘I am here because of that woman’”.
