The winner of the R124 million Powerball jackpot purchased their winning ticket via the Absa banking app.
The winner from the August 5, 2025, draw will walk away with a staggering R124,602,697.30.
National Lottery Ithuba said the winner spent R37.50 on their ticket and opted to select their numbers manually.
Seven players matched five numbers and each walked away with over R115,000 in Division 2, while 49 other participants each won over R10,000 in Division 3.
“These winners purchased their tickets through a variety of convenient platforms, including in-store retailers, banking apps of various banks, the National Lottery website, and the official mobile app.”
The jackpot winner is expected to make contact with Ithuba soon, as banks notify winners of their winnings automatically.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: “We are looking forward to meeting the winner and learning about their plans for this huge jackpot. We encourage all participants to check their tickets to ensure they do not miss out on winnings from other divisions.”
