Tyla’s “We Wanna Party” Asia tour is off to a record-breaking start, with sold-out shows in both Thailand and the Philippines.
The Grammy-winning singer has made history as the first African artist to sell out headlining arena concerts in both countries.
According to the ticketing site Megatix, all tickets for Tyla’s Bangkok show on November 14 have officially sold out.
The concert is set to take place at the Impact Challenger H3 Arena, which can hold between 14,000 and 20,000 people. The excitement among her Thailand fanbase has been unmatched as they prepare to welcome the South African superstar.
Tyla also achieved another major milestone in the Philippines, selling out most of the arena with only floor-standing tickets left. As it appears on the SM tickets website, her December 3 show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, one of the country’s biggest venues with a 20,000 capacity, is almost sold out.
The “Chanel” hitmaker reacted to the news on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “So excited, y’all gassing meee,” showing her joy as the tour continues to gain momentum.
Previously, the singer shared how surreal it feels to be headlining her own shows, posting, “Can’t believe I’m finally going on my first headline tour… Been performing on other stages, but now I got my ownnnnnnn.”
Set to kick off on November 11 in Tokyo, the “We Wanna Party” Asia tour includes stops in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila, and Singapore, with additional performances scheduled in China, Indonesia, India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, the “popiano” star was celebrated at the 19th Glamour Women of The Year Awards, held at 180 Studios in London on Thursday, October 30.
Tyla was honoured for her global impact and growing influence as one of Africa’s leading young artists.
Accepting her award from UK singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Tyla reflected on how far she’s come and the courage it took to chase her dream.
“Even though it seemed impossible, I was really afraid of not trying,” she said. “I never wanted to look back one day and think, what if it actually worked?”
She went on to encourage others to take risks and pursue their goals without fear of failure, adding, “If you have a dream, just try. The worst thing that can happen is it doesn’t happen, but at least you’ll know.”
