The Mzansi Youth Choir have a solid fan base on home soil and abroad.
Having delivered spectacular performances on global stages like “America’s Got Talent” and the Fifa World Cup 2026, witnessing them live is a true privilege.
Fortunately, audiences in Joburg will soon have the opportunity to experience exactly that as they will be performing at Soweto Theatre in “Mzansi Unbound”.
Blending global influences with a core South African identity, their music delivers a rich fusion of township rhythms, gospel, reggae, African music, and international anthems.
Theatregoers can look forward to being serenaded to hits like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Paradise” and “One Love” alongside “Angimbonanga” and “Ljele”.
Reflecting on their journey as SA’s cultural ambassadors, they have shared stages with prominent contemporary stars and legendary performers, including Tyla, Freshlyground, Wouter Kellerman, Lira, Khaya Mthethwa, Vusi Mahlasela, and Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse.
Their stellar collaborations also extend to Dorothy Masuka, Abigail Kubeka, Jonas Gwangwa, Leleti Khumalo, Zolani Mahola, Samthing Soweto, PJ Powers, and the globally celebrated Soweto Gospel Choir.
On the global stage, they have shared the spotlight with international icons like Coldplay, Jon Batiste, Shakira, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Beyoncé, among others.
Needless to say, fans can look forward to a truly memorable evening.

The Adventures of Thumbelina
If your patience and options are hanging on by a fine thread, worry not; there’s another children’s play to help give you a breather.
The classic fairytale by Hans Christine Anderson is brought to life at Theatre on the Square.
The story is centred on a woman who longingly wishes for a child. Her prayers are answered when a pair of kind-hearted souls give her a seed to plant, along with precise instructions on how to water and nurture it.
When the flower finally blossoms, a wonderful surprise is found inside: a tiny girl no bigger than a thumb.
And so, she receives the name Thumbelina.
This is a delightful, charming, and engaging show perfect for young children between the ages of 4 and 8.
Directed and choreographed by Litzy Katz, it stars Gorata Mathebula, Lisa De Wet, Luzuko Gqiba and Kevin Theron.
