DJ Lamiez Holworthy took a tumble at Afro Nation and thanks to musician Njelic, she got right back up to keep the party going.
The past weekend marked the beginning of one of the most celebrated annual events on the music calendar.
The 2026 Afro Nation festival took place from July 3 to 5, on the sands of Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal.
The three-day event featured a star-studded line-up of international acts and South African stars, who showed exactly why amapiano continues to dominate stages across the world.
The DJ and television host was one of the artists who took to the Piano People stage, delivering an electrifying set alongside Njelic.
While the pair had the crowd locked in with their infectious dance moves they’ve become known for, Holworthy took a tumble while attempting what looked like a vosho.
Sharing a vlog from the weekend, she gave followers a front-row seat to the moment she fell before laughing it off.
“There’s something about when you’re in your mid-thirties, the knees are not the same anymore,” Holworthy joked.
“Not me falling on stage sana, in front of thousands of people and Njelic struggled to pick me up, but I’m here, I’m alive. That was so much fun!”
She may have fallen in front of thousands of people, but she did it while looking stunning in a custom Orapeleng Modutle dress that perfectly matched the festival’s party vibes.
Holworthy and Njelic were just two of the many South African artists flying the country’s flag on the Piano People stage, Afro Nation’s dedicated amapiano platform.
Throughout the weekend, festival-goers were treated to performances from some of the genre’s biggest names.
Kelvin Momo delivered one of the weekend’s standout performances, while Mawhoo had the crowd singing from the top of their lungs.
The line-up also featured Amaroto, Daliwonga, DJ Lag, Felo Le Tee, LeeMcKrazy, Mellow & Sleazy, Nkosazana Daughter, Royal MusiQ, Scotts Maphuma and more.
The South African takeover didn’t stop there. Tyla was one of the headline acts on the Everything is Lit stage, where she shared the line-up with Burna Boy, Uncle Waffles and Zee Nxumalo.
