The alleged Crime Intelligence Agent (CIA), Brown Mogotsi, resumed his testimony before the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday afternoon.
The commission started its hearings later than usual to allow Mogotsi time to finalise his documents.
He started his testimony by telling the commission that he was worried about recent claims that he staged his assassination.
“I ran for my life.”
Two weeks ago, Mogotsi’s vehicle allegedly came under fire in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder and seized the vehicle.
Mogotsi testified on Tuesday, dropping serious claims including that the KZN Police Commissioner, Lt-Gen. Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and Zulu King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini were allegedly recruited by the CIA to safeguard American strategic interests.
Mogotsi also told the commission that Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala told him that he met with Mkhwanazi, in his residence in uMhlanga Ridge to give him an amount of money.
“He did not say how much and for what reason.”
Mogotsi says this happened after the July 6 briefing.
According to Mogotsi, Matlala was surprised that Mkhwanazi was implicating him while he had bribed him.
He also alleged that Matlala told him top cops, National Police Commissioner, Fannie Masemola and former police minister, Bheki Cele were “very ungrateful.”
He claimed Masemola expected R25 million from him of which he’d already given R5 million. He added that Cele received R2 million who allegedly demanded another R8 million.
Mogotsi said Matlala added that Cele and Masemola had a comeback strategy to return Cele as police minister in a bid to remove the suspended deputy police minister, Shadrack Sibiya from office.
