If poking fun at your fierce rival’s misfortune was a competition, Orlando Pirates would already have the trophy this season.
While Kaizer Chiefs have not yet officially confirmed that Nasreddine Nabi is leaving his position as coach, the AmaKhosi have admitted that he is not with the team at the moment.
Of course, all the speculation points to Nabi’s time already being up at the Betway Premiership side.
With the situation anything but calm at Naturena, Pirates released a rather cheeky video on social media over the weekend.
Cheeky Video Highlights Pirates’ Rivalry with Chiefs
In it, we see a figure who resembles Nabi with his signature peak cap and dark glasses on, wearing a tracksuit with the black and gold colours of Chiefs waiting at a bus stop.
The man jumps into a black SUV which promptly rolls up. In the vehicle, the driver asks “Where are we going?”
To which the man in the backseat with his head down so his cap obscures his face, says in an accent rather like that of the Tunisian mentor “To the airport please.”
The final dig comes as we see an exterior shot of the car driving away with what can only be described as male testicles dangling below the bumper. Read into that, what you will.
The whole thing shows that Pirates can only take pleasure in the difficulties currently being experienced by their Soweto rivals, and one would not expect anything less in an intense footballing rivalry.
The brazen video and definitely not subtle, but ultimately it’s harmless and credit must be given to Pirates for striking while the iron is hot.
