Yellow Level 4 warning: Thunderstorms and hail expected in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga

The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms, hail and possible flooding in parts of the country on Monday.

According to SAWS, the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the escarpment areas in Mpumalanga will experience heavy downpours, lightning, hail, and damaging winds that may result in flooding of susceptible settlements.

The forecaster has also issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms in the North West, except for the extreme west, western parts of the Free State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga Highveld, except the extreme north-west, and the southern parts of KZN.

It looks like the rain continues into Tuesday and Wednesday with partly cloudy and cool to warm temperatures in parts of SA with scattered showers and thundershowers.
