AmaZulu head coach Arthur Zwane believes the signing of experienced tactical strategist Sinesipho Mali could prove instrumental in helping Usuthu take the next step in their journey.
Mali arrives with a wealth of experience at both club and international level, having established himself as one of South Africa’s sort after analysts.
“It’s quite important to have someone of his calibre. Very experienced,” Zwane said.
“He’s going to add so much value. He’s just come back from the World Cup experience and he has AFCON experience, so he’s going to share with us and also help the guys. Also, he’s got vast experience in club competitions as well.”
Zwane added that Mali’s arrival reflects the club’s determination to continue building on the progress made over the past two seasons. Mali just arrived back from the World Cup with Bafana Bafana.
“So having him on board, I think it’s a plus for us as a club. I welcome him, and we know he’s going to add so much value.”
Usuthu head into the new campaign with renewed confidence after defending their KZN Premier’s Cup title following steady improvement in the league. After narrowly missing out on a higher finish two seasons ago due to goal difference, AmaZulu climbed to fourth place last season, underlining the club’s upward trajectory under Zwane.
The coach believes those improvements have been driven by the collective commitment shown throughout the club.
“I must say the players have responded positively to the demands and expectations. I’m proud of them, and I’m proud of the technical team, the president for the support that he’s giving us, the board, the CEO, and everyone who has been there through thick and thin. I think they’ve done well so far, and we’re on a growth path going forward,” Zwane added.
With Mali now strengthening an already settled backroom staff, AmaZulu will be hoping to transform their steady rise into silverware.
Backed by a united technical team, committed management and the continued support of club president and CEO Sandile Zungu, Usuthu believe they are well positioned to challenge the country’s biggest clubs once again this season.
