We all know how cold Cape Town can get in the winter and how much heat we lose through our extremities. We also know how difficult it is to concentrate when it’s cold and that children find it difficult to learn. So we put our heads together and decided to collect Beanies For Babies this Mandela Day. ( children age 0 – 12 years )
Magic 828 listeners are encouraged to make a difference by donating handmade or store-bought beanies and to support our efforts to keep Cape Town children warm this winter.
The beanies will be donated to children at 10 schools across Cape Town communities.
To this end we are teaming up with Halli Trust.
For those that wish to knit or crochet beanies, you are welcome to use your own pattern or use Aunty Miems’s or Aunty Jean’s beanie patterns provided by Halli Trust.
Please share photos of your knitting with us via the Magic 828 App and we will share them on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Magic 828 Beanies For Babies This Mandela Day can be dropped off at the Magic 828 studio Monday to Friday between 9 and 3pm.
We will hand over our collected of Beanies For Babies to Halli Trust on Friday 8 July.
Should you wish to make a financial contribution, please use the Halli Trust banking details below.
