Durban City could be heading toward a major technical reshuffle ahead of the new season, with coach Pitso Dladla understood to be in discussions with Golden Arrows over a possible move away from the club.

The developments come after Abafana Bes’thende recently bade farewell to Manqoba Mngqithi, leaving a vacancy in the dugout and triggering a search for a new head coach ahead of the upcoming Betway Premiership campaign.

Arrows had initially engaged in talks with former TS Galaxy mentor Adnan Beganovic as part of that process. However, those discussions are understood to have fallen through, forcing the club to shift its attention elsewhere in the market.

Dladla has subsequently emerged as one of the leading names under consideration as Arrows continue searching for a coach capable of guiding the club into its next chapter.

The experienced mentor has built a respected profile within local football through his work at Durban City, where he has been credited with helping create stability and competitiveness within the squad.

With discussions ongoing elsewhere, uncertainty has now grown around Dladla’s future at Durban City and the club are believed to be exploring possible alternatives should he complete a move away.

Among the names linked with replacing him is former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef.

Ben Youssef recently departed Chiefs alongside Cedric Kaze following the end of the season after helping guide the club through a transitional period.

The duo stepped into leadership positions after Nasreddine Nabi’s exit earlier in the campaign and oversaw a season in which Chiefs finished third in the Betway Premiership, qualified for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup and secured a return to the top eight.

Ben Youssef is believed to have attracted attention for his structured tactical approach and ability to work within long-term projects.

Although no formal announcements have yet been made, the movement taking place behind the scenes points toward a potentially significant coaching reshuffle.

Should Dladla complete a move to Arrows and Ben Youssef arrive at Durban City, it would represent one of the more notable coaching changes ahead of the new domestic season.
