Cameron Diaz embraces motherhood again: welcoming baby Nautas at 53

Cameron Diaz and her musician husband, Benji Madden, have announced the arrival of their third child. The couple is aged 53 and 47, respectively.

The singer-songwriter took to his Instagram with the news, where he introduced their son, Nautas Madden, with an intriguing post featuring a card with a drawing of a pirate ship.

The card also had extra details like the meaning of their child’s name and its origin.

“Cameron and I are happy, excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third child, Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world, son!!” he wrote.

He added, “We love life with our family- our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!!! Having a blast. Sending all our best wishes – the Madden Family.”

The Madden family took over the comment section, filling the post with heart emojis as they celebrated the moment together, with Diaz also joining in. 

Among the messages, artist Clinton Cave added: “biggest cool dad flex with the one piece announcement. Welcome, Nautas, to the world, legendary status awaits! f*** yeah @camerondiaz.”

The name Nautas means “sailor, navigator, voyager. One who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown.”

The love birds got married in 2015 and are already parents to daughter Raddix, who was born on December 30, 2019, and son Cardinal, who was born on March 22, 2024.

And like before, they chose to keep their life private and are only sharing the news, but not much else. That approach is not new for them. When they first became parents, they made it clear they would not be posting pictures or opening up their children’s lives to the public.

It also ties into how Diaz has spoken about stepping away from Hollywood. 

For years, she focused on building a life outside of the spotlight, something she’s described as one of the best decisions she’s made.

“It felt like the right thing for me to reclaim my own life, and I just really didn’t care about anything else,” she said during an appearance at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit.

“Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have. I think it really comes to, ‘What are you passionate about?’

“For me, it was to build my family,” she added.
