South African rapper Cassper Nyovest has responded to praise from music legend Black Coffee, who called him the “GOAT” after his Fill Up Toyota Stadium concert on Saturday, December 6, in Bloemfontein. The event reached full capacity, drawing 30,500 fans.
After the show, Coffee posted on X, tagging Nyovest and writing, “Goat”, recognising his achievements and influence on the music scene. Nyovest, who has stepped away from X, said that he only learned about the praise through a blog.
“Actually, I saw this tweet in a blog. I wasn’t aware because I don’t use Twitter anymore. Just came on here to acknowledge that this means a lot to me. You’re an inspiration, GROOTMAN Laka!!! Danko!!” he said.
Following the concert, Nyovest shared a message on Instagram thanking everyone involved in making the event a success.
He acknowledged the organisers, sponsors, dancers, photographers, engineers, security, stylists, vendors, safety managers, marketing and PR teams, cooks and especially the fans.
“30,500 people in attendance without a new album, a gimmick or a publicity stunt. Just hard work and brand trust! I am grateful.
“I have so many highlights and will share them in the coming days. I love you, and I am overwhelmed by your support. The big question is, SHOULD WE DO THIS AGAIN? If yes, WHERE?”
The Fill Up concept is a series of large-scale live music events by Nyovest, designed to show that South African artists can fill major stadiums without international acts.
The campaign challenged the belief that local performers cannot attract large crowds on their own.
Over the years, Fill Up has become a cultural movement, inspiring artists and young people across the country while elevating the status of South African music.
