The City says that it will again be partnering with the KID SMART Project to provide a sophisticated monitoring system to help reunite any lost children with their parents. The City says that in its five-decade history, the Festive Lights Switch-On event has always been a family-focused occasion where loved ones can celebrate and have fun in a safe environment.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has told the House of Commons in London that the story of Britain and South Africa is one of redemption and a transformed relationship between the two countries.
The President is in the United Kingdom for a two-day state visit, which ends today at the invitation of King Charles the Third.
Addressing parliamentarians, Ramaphosa said following a colonial era of conflict and dispossession, relations are now marked by a shared desire for equality, human rights, and the fulfilment of the potential for all.

The Informal Economy Development Forum has welcomed the government’s commitment to find funds to buy diesel for electricity generation.
The government say it will find the money needed for the diesel supplies. The Forum says they support the government’s attempts to resolve the electricity crisis.
Twins born from embryos frozen 30+ years ago
Twin babies have been born in the US state of Tennessee from embryos frozen more than 30 years ago.
It is believed to be a new record for the longest-frozen embryos ever to result in a successful live birth.
They were stored at around -128C in liquid nitrogen on the 22nd April 1992.
